I'm bringing my beaded bracelet workshops to Saskatoon!
I’m based in Regina, but I don’t believe creativity should stay put.
There’s something vulnerable about bringing your work into a different city. It’s not home turf. It’s not your regular faces. It’s walking into a new room and building the energy from scratch.
And I like that. Even if it makes me a teeny tiny bit nervous.
Bringing my beaded bracelet workshops to Saskatoon feels less like “expanding” and more like extending an invitation. AND that is something I can get behind. I am obsessed with beads, and creating. I am in love with building community, and I believe we are better together.
The format is simple. A table. A spread of beads. People arriving a little unsure if they’re creative enough for this. They always are.
The interesting part is what happens once everyone starts choosing. You can learn a lot about someone by how they build a bracelet. Some plan it out bead by bead. Some throw colour together instinctively. Some change direction halfway through because something shifts. Me personally, I am a mix of everything depending on the day. And I think creativity is an outlet for the shifting of our energy. We are always changing, so too should our adornments.
That’s my favourite part.
It’s not about perfection. It’s about watching people loosen up.
